世界范圍內(nèi)各種各樣的環(huán)境變化正在加速，給人類帶來重大挑戰(zhàn)。在景觀、生物系統(tǒng)和人類機(jī)構(gòu)的物理特征相互作用的區(qū)域一級，需要解決辦法。區(qū)域環(huán)境變化的目標(biāo)是發(fā)表科學(xué)研究和意見論文，增進(jìn)我們對這些變化的程度、原因、對人民的影響以及社會作出反應(yīng)的選擇的了解。“區(qū)域”是指地方和全球之間的各種規(guī)模，包括以自然標(biāo)準(zhǔn)界定的區(qū)域，例如流域和生態(tài)系統(tǒng)，以及以人類活動界定的區(qū)域，例如城市地區(qū)及其腹地。我們鼓勵提交自然科學(xué)、社會科學(xué)和人文學(xué)科的跨學(xué)科研究報告，以及有助于解決復(fù)雜環(huán)境問題的更有針對性的研究報告。討論的主題包括(i)全球變化的區(qū)域表現(xiàn)，特別是區(qū)域和部門的脆弱性;在可持續(xù)發(fā)展的范圍內(nèi)使社會生態(tài)系統(tǒng)適應(yīng)環(huán)境變化;跨界和跨管轄問題、立法和治理框架以及與在區(qū)域范圍內(nèi)建立、維持和恢復(fù)健全的社會生態(tài)系統(tǒng)有關(guān)的廣泛政策和管理問題。論文的主要形式是研究論文，通過分析經(jīng)驗數(shù)據(jù)或?qū)^(qū)域環(huán)境變化進(jìn)行更多的理論調(diào)查，提出新的證據(jù)。除了研究文章，我們還發(fā)表社論、簡短的交流、邀請對當(dāng)前感興趣的主題進(jìn)行小型評論，以及提供對復(fù)雜主題或特定區(qū)域進(jìn)行多方面討論的專題。

Environmental changes of many kinds are accelerating worldwide, posing significant challenges for humanity. Solutions are needed at the regional level, where physical features of the landscape, biological systems, and human institutions interact.The goal of Regional Environmental Change is to publish scientific research and opinion papers that improve our understanding of the extent of these changes, their causes, their impacts on people, and the options for society to respond. "Regional" refers to the full range of scales between local and global, including regions defined by natural criteria, such as watersheds and ecosystems, and those defined by human activities, such as urban areas and their hinterlands.We encourage submissions on interdisciplinary research across the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, and on more focused studies that contribute towards the solutions to complex environmental problems. Topics addressed include (i) the regional manifestations of global change, especially the vulnerability of regions and sectors; (ii) the adaptation of social-ecological systems to environmental change in the context of sustainable development; and (iii) trans-boundary and cross-jurisdictional issues, legislative and governance frameworks, and the broad range of policy and management issues associated with building, maintaining and restoring robust social-ecological systems at regional scales.The primary format of contributions are research articles, presenting new evidence from analyses of empirical data or else more theoretical investigations of regional environmental change. In addition to research articles, we also publish editorials, short communications, invited mini-reviews on topics of strong current interest, as well as special features that provide multifaceted discussion of complex topics or particular regions.
